Katie from Arizona

Our new girl of the week is Katharine Fish from Arizona. She is a Junior at Sweet Briar College, and is also known as Katie. When asked how she discovered Sweet Briar, Katie says that "I was flipping through the FISK Guide to colleges my sophmore year of high school, opened the book to the page, thought the name was funny, read about it, loved it, researched it, and decided I couldn't go anywhere else." She claims that she was attracted to the school because it is a women's college, and it has a really welcoming and sweet environment. Katie's says that the college is "very homey." The south was also a very big attraction for the school. Since living at Sweet Briar, katie says "I love that it's a completely different experience then you'll get at any other college. I like the cute little traditions, and the idea of tap clubs. I also actually enjoy that we're sort of in the middle of no where." When Katie was asked what she misses the most from her home state Arizona, she says "SUNSHINE, I really miss the warm weather. I hate the wind and snow." She also makes the comment that she misses having her car here on campus.

While talking about her home state, she tells some of her favorite places to go and claims that if you every travel to Arizona you should visit the following places as well. The first place she says to visit is Sedona Arizona, Katie says that this "is the most beautiful place on earth." The second place she recommends for you to travel to is of course the Grand Canyon; and last but not least, if you want good shopping, Katie claims that "Scottsdale Fashion Square is better than any mall in Los Angeles, or in the country for that matter." So if your out west and want some great shopping as well as some great scenic views you should most definetly make Arizona a must STOP!

Katie was also asked one quick last question; She was asked to tell one interesting thing about herself that her fellow classmates would probably not know and Katies says that "I'm afraid of walking on snow. It's terrible." It's O.K. Katie, summer is right around the corner and you can catch plenty of sun rays then.

Great article! I loved how you use quotes a lot to tell her story. Some of the quirky facts about her are great!

The links you provide are pretty awesome, too. :)
