The girl of the week is Freshman Jordan Shoemaker of Springville California. She is also known to others on campus as Jo. Jo says "when i was applying to colleges, I found a website that had every college in the counrty. I saw Sweet Briar on the list, and I thought it had a unique name. When I visited the website, it looked interesting. So I applied." The schools beauty and small classes were attractions she loved about the school. Most impotantly she says "when I visited I felt like I fit in really well." Jo loves that the campus is so beautiful. " I take pictures on the way to class all of the time."
Jo misses a lot from her home state California. The authentic mexican food, the warm weather and the shopping are just a few that she really misses. Jo says that "Cali has a variety of places to go." The following are some places that she likes to visit and thinks that you would enjoy them to. "I love Santa Barbara fot the beach, San Fransico is my favorite city, Palm Springs is in the desert, and Mammoth Lakes is the best place to go for the mountain setting." Summer is just around the corner, get some friends together along with your camara and drive cross country for for some great scenic views.
Jo loves the mountains and fishing if you didn't already know. The picture of her above with her dog Zoey is taken at her cabin in Mammoth. She lives here all summer and "all I do is read books and go fishing with my sisters." Hold on just a few more weeks of school Jo, and you can enjoy the warm summer days of reading and Fishing!
