This weeks new state girl is Megan Manubay a senior at Sweet Briar College. Megan is from Deleware. Megan's high school guidance councelor helped her discover Sweet Briar. "He knew how much I love to horseback ride," she claims. "Horseback riding was the first thing that attracted me to the school, but once I visited, I loved the campus and the small class size." Megan says that she loves how beautiful the campus is in the Spring, as well as how big and open the campus is.
While at college for the school yearMegan misses a few things from her home state. She says "I miss that I don't have to drive far anywhere. Deleware is in a pretty good location, it is about 45 minutes from Baltimore and Philedelphia, and two hours from New York City and Washington D.C." Megan also misses "how flat it is because sometimes I feel sick after driving on the mountain roads here." A few other things that she misses is the variety of restaurants. "I also miss Tax-free shopping because I can never figure out how much something really costs here.
If you ever decide to travel to the state of Deleware, Megan recommends some of her favorite things to do. Some include going to the beach. "There is a Steeple chase, Point-to-point, in the beginning of May which is always fun. "In the Fall, a lot of people go to the U of D football games or high school football games." Megan also says that you should visit the Dover Air Force Base. " There are a lot of museums and historical places to tour. It also takes only an hour and a half to get from one end of the state to the other, so it dosen't take too long to see it all."
If any of you would like to get to know Megan Better, bring her some Reese's Peanut Butter cups, and she will be your friend in a minute.
